Director Alis Locantas �Back Home 2� is a sequel, by definition, but it diverges from the original film in ways both significant and subtle. The most immediately obvious difference is that �Back Home� was a lesbian love story, and the follow-up involves a woman and a man. But apart from the differences in plumbing, �Back Home 2� is a cheerful, upbeat �two hearts story� (the sequels subtitle), while there was an undercurrent of heartbreak, emotional hurt, and romantic fragility in the original.
